| WHAT HAVING YOU AS PARENTS MEAN!
If this were asked of me---- Warm thoughts of you would flood my heart, And this my answer would be ------ To me you are many things, No words can express the worth, Of this rich gift that God bestows, To bless our walk on earth. When disappointments and shadows come, You make the Sun Shine through, With just: "I UNDERSTAND". Not like a flickering candlelight, But with a steady, glowing flame. Knowing my failings, and my faults, Yet loving me just the same. You are the one who weeps with me, laughs with me, And shares in my joys and sorrows. You take my grief and my needs to God in Prayer. You are always there, Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow. You have always been there when life has been rotten. Your ideals I have not forgotten. You have always given more than you have gotten. Your grip is a little tighter, Your love is a little stronger, And your smile is a little brighter. You are first my Parents, But most of all you are my BEST FRIENDS. And so tonight as we share in the Joy and the Celebration of this your 50th Wedding Anniversary, we THANK GOD, for giving us the BLESSINGS and The JOY of having you as our PARENTS, GRANDPARENTS, AND GREAT GRANDPARENTS. | This song was sung at their 50th Wedding Anniversary and we had it sung at Mom's funeral.. My sister-in Deyon sang it both times. |
