A Ghost Story

My name is J. Hughes, author of Brad’s Omen, a self-published novel.
Because I had been employed in an industry that demands a significant amount of
my time, I was unable to promote it. This writing was a labor of love and a project that I

That's what I want to scream to the world and all those who need to hear it - let it come from me and this book.....BELIEVE IN YOURSELF!!!

Brad’s Omen came about as the result of a nine-month marriage that went terribly sour in a very strange and unusual way. The day we moved into our new home, in a new town, we found two dead black birds on the front lawn and one in the back yard with its head cut off. I looked at my husband and said, “I hope this isn’t an omen!” It sure was! He changed into a person I would later swear that I’d never met before. He even looked different. The day I moved out of the house the neighbor told me that the old man who owned the home previously died in the back bedroom, the son hung himself in the house and a prostitute was killed in the front bedroom. The wife who was the last to leave the house died in a rest home. He said that the woman who rented the house before us thought it was haunted. She had her father who was a priest bless the house. I took these unusual set of events, twisted them all out of proportion and turned it into a ghost story. The fun part of reading this story is trying to determine what really happened vs. what was fabricated to answer why these strange events happened. Brad’s Omen has received very good reviews.
