God will give me strength when I need it He'll carry me when I can't walk. He'll be my shoulder to lean on He'll be there when I need to talk. Through the lonely nights when I'm crying He'll dry up all my tears. He'll remind me of how He's been with me And gave me happiness for many long years. He was with me through the good times He saw me through all of the bad. He gave me His precious Son Jesus The greatest gift anyone ever had. So He'll walk with me now, though I'm hurting He understands my pain and my fear He'll guide me gently, and protect me He'll be there to dry every tear. Dad and Mom has two good legs now to walk on Mom's heart and Dad's lungs, healthy and strong They are walking in heaven with their loved ones That have gone on before them and was waiting for them. So I will live my life and be happy They would want it that way While they enjoy this new found freedom For them, it's a glorious day. And Jesus will comfort and keep me Though my heart is breaking into There's so much here on earth to be finished So much left for me to do. But on that day when my journey has ended And those pearly gates you walk through. I'll see Mom and Dad, standing there with Jesus Together they wait for me. Dad passed away on Oct. 29th 2004 and Mom passed away on Nov. 18th 2004. I still think about them and miss them everyday.. Written by Jackie Lane 2008 |
