| Setting on a table in the living room
is a book so tattered and torn, because of the age of this maserpiece the pages are definitely worn. It's the old family Bible upon the table so easy for all within reach, It's been used by those in our family, To learn, as well as to preach. To learn of God's love for creation To learn of his promise to man, To bring us peace and salvation Knowing that with him we always can... Live a life filled with Promise Know of his love found within, Remembering that for us he perished For us, he died, taking our sin! That old family bible is there It holds so many valualbe things, It contains above all His word But with memories it loudly rings. Inside is a dried, withered rose Preserved from a long time past, It once was a part of a loving bouquet That through ages it somehow would last. There are notes so neatly written, Of birth, of love and those gone A history of a dear family, Each reading creates a new dawn! And God is the center of this book That has been in our family for years. He is the foundation of living, He's been there throught the laughter and tears. So lying there on the table alone With its pages so tattered and torn, Is a book that will never get dusty But its pages will always be worn. And his work will be a part of the lives that are yet to be. And this old, tattered family Bible, Will always be a treasure to me! |
